New Strategic Alliance For Car Customer Satisfaction Study
The global information firm J.D. Power and Associates and Haymarket Publishing,
publishers of What Car? and Autocar magazines, are joining forces on the UK’s leading Car
Customer Satisfaction Study.
Now in its ninth year, the study will again ask motorists to assess the first two years of car
ownership, this time with V and W registration cars first sold between September 1999 and
August 2000. During this period more than 2.2 million new cars were sold in the UK.
J.D. Power and Associates will use independent sources to reach a wide cross-section of UK
motorists and will report on owners’ experiences with their cars, dealers, manufacturers and
breakdown assistance services.
We are very excited to be working with J.D. Power and Associates, said What Car? editor
Steve Fowler. Our magazines are all about providing consumers with relevant information to
help them in their car purchase and beyond, and one in four new car buyers already refer to What
Car? before making a decision. Our relationship with J.D. Power and Associates will enable us to
provide car buyers with even more essential information before they go shopping.
Results of the study will be provided next spring by Haymarket Publishing in both What
Car? and Autocar, as well as on the leading Web site whatcar.com.
The purpose of our studies is to provide manufacturers with high quality independent
information to help them in their efforts to improve customer satisfaction, Dave Sargent, director
of European operations at J.D. Power and Associates, explained. We also provide information to
consumers to help them make more informed decisions. Our alliance with Haymarket Publishing
is designed to enhance this service.
