Inventor of Electronic Cataloging Opens Online Auto Parts Store
Stanley Rak, inventor of electronic cataloging for automotive aftermarket parts in 1983, has ventured into the Internet industry, opening CarLoverShop, The Internet’s Largest Online Auto Parts Store, it was announced today.
CarLoverShop will be the largest shopping store for auto parts ever built on the Internet, Rak states, We’re not only going to have just one brand, but four or five brands of different items. CarLoverShop will sell items such as air fresheners, key chains, tools, floor mats, light bulbs, jacks and tow bars, to name a few. If you’re looking for a compass, for example, you’re not going to find one but five or nine different brands to choose from!
The Internet was a natural transition for me, says Rak. After developing the catalog system, I knew it would be a matter of time before the widespread use of computers in the automotive aftermarket industry. Mr. Rak’s electronic catalog system was wildly received when introduced in 1983. The following year, he sold the rights to his invention to Triad. Today the system is being used in over 15000 stores throughout the United States.
We developed our first site, CarLover as a place for car enthusiasts to see pictures and information about their favorite car. Our goal is to have every car ever made online. We’ve done a lot of research and have pictures of vehicles dating from 1769 to the present. We’re being seen by people all over the world and getting rave reviews.
CarLover is currently online with over 4000 pictures of automobiles and is constantly being updated. At present, viewers are spending an average of 10 minutes each surfing on the site. CarLoverShop will be online in time for Christmas.
