First Car Rental Agency to Adopt Electronic Signature Capture in Rental Contracts
Orion Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce that The Hertz Corporation has rolled out Orion Systems' complete electronic contracts and signature capture software solution, Orion OnlineContracts, at Hertz' major airport and downtown car rental locations throughout the United States. While customers still receive a signed, paper rental agreement, Hertz is the first car rental company to adopt electronic signature capture and eliminate its own paper rental agreements to increase efficiency and reduce costs. By maintaining rental contracts electronically in a forge resistant, tamperproof format, Hertz eliminates the costs associated with paper, including shipping, scanning, databasing, and archiving.
Orion OnlineContracts is a software-based solution that allows companies to electronically capture legally binding contracts and customer's signatures in a secure process, resulting in an exact electronic version of the contract, including all rental information, time stamp, initials and signatures, and look and feel. The Orion OnlineContracts software allows its corporate clients to provide a paper version of the transaction to the customer, as legally required in most binding contracts, without the need to maintain a physical paper copy themselves.
Hertz was interested in reducing the amount of paper it generates at the transaction point. With our software, Hertz has dramatically reduced the paper handling processes associated with rental agreements, and moved to an automated electronic process. Orion OnlineContracts provides the same images traditional scanners create, yet with increased security, clearer definition in a fully automated way, requiring no human involvement. Says Michael Movalli, CEO of Orion.
